Who we are:

The Irish Women's Short Film Festival is a new festival dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the voices of women filmmakers across Ireland and the global Irish diaspora. We believe that Irish women — wherever they are in the world — have extraordinary stories to tell, and we exist to give those stories the platform they deserve.

Through a curated programme of short films, the festival shines a light on the depth and diversity of female-led filmmaking talent, from debut directors taking their first steps to established voices pushing the boundaries of the form. From Dublin to New York, Dubai to Sydney, we celebrate the richness of Irish heritage through the art of film.

We are passionate about building a community where Irish women in film can connect, be seen, and be celebrated — no matter where in the world they call home. The Irish Women's Short Film Festival is more than a screening — it's a movement.

Next Event:Adelaide April 9th

On Thursday, April 9th from 6:00–9:00 PM, the Irish Center (13–15 Carrington St., Adelaide) will host a curated showcase of short films by Irish women from Ireland and across the diaspora. These intimate works explore milestones and relationships that shape women’s lives—first kisses, sisterhood, caring for loved ones at the end of life, queer love, childbearing, motherhood, and marriage.

Tickets are $20 and include light nibbles, with a bar available. The atmosphere will be relaxed and welcoming—perfect for meeting fellow creatives and film lovers.

Come experience a powerful collection of stories that reflect women’s lives with honesty, tenderness, and strength. Bring a friend, connect with community, and celebrate storytelling that resonates across generations and borders.
