Films
We want to see your stories on screen.
The Irish Women's Short Film Festival accepts submissions through Film Freeway, the world's leading festival submission platform. Submitting is simple — create a free account, find our festival page and upload your film. We can't wait to see what you've made.
Who Can Submit
This festival is for you if you are a woman who is from Ireland or of Irish heritage. The filmmaker, director, producer or DOP submitting the film must identify as a woman with an Irish connection — whether you were born there, grew up there, hold an Irish passport, or carry Ireland in your blood and your bones. The Irish diaspora is at the heart of what we do.
The Stories We're Looking For
We are a festival with a focus — and that focus is the full, rich, complicated experience of being a woman.
We are particularly drawn to films that explore female stories in all their depth and variety — friendship and sisterhood, LGBTQIA+ stories, girlhood and coming of age, motherhood and childbearing, marriage and partnership, ageing and identity, and women navigating the workplace and the world. But we welcome any story told through a female lens. If it matters to you, it matters to us.
